Research out today by badi, the leading room rental platform, reveals that UK residents would actually prefer to live with Donald Trump over popsters Kanye West and Justin Bieber!

With Bieber’s party animal behaviour and Kanye’s bizarro tendencies, it perhaps comes as no surprise that people believe the pair epitomise some of the worst habits that people would rather avoid when looking for a housemate.

The study of 2,000 UK renters, voted leaving stacks of washing up (32%) and shared spaces untidy (26%) at the top the list of bad habits with getting in late and making a racket (19%) as well as playing music loudly at anti-social hours (16%) all coming in the top 10 list of complaints.

Despite people’s strong opinions when it comes to personality traits, a staggering 68% of people are unwilling to admit they actually might possess a bad habit themselves. With just under a quarter of renters saying they think they have the perfect flatmate, this actually means more than three-quarters think they could probably do better!

Steven Hiltermann, General Manager for badi UK says: “We know just how hard the process can be when looking for a flatmate which is why badi has been created to ease the process. Thankfully it’s not all doom and gloom in the UK, three in ten renters have started a romantic relationship with the person they’re sharing with and 44% would consider someone they’ve lived with to be one of their best friends.”

Continues Steven, “We think it’s important to not leave anything to chance, which is why we use unique artificial intelligence algorithms to ensure people looking for a roommate get a head-start by matching them based on their values and positive personality traits. After all, with more people sharing flats for longer, it’s important to find the right living environment and a lot of that is down to the people you share with.”
