Brilliant start at CES for Mimi Hearing Technologies

With a large suitcase full of innovations, the Berlin-based technology company Mimi Hearing Technologies together with beyerdynamic and Bragi made an explosive appearance at this year’s CES, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show in Las Vegas. After Mimi and beyerdynamic had already received this year’s CES Innovation Award for their first ever jointly developed headphones, Aventho wireless, Hearable pioneer Bragi has now become the second audio manufacturer to rely on Mimi’s patented sound personalization technology.

In view of these positive developments, plus the addition of the former president of Dolby International, Andreas Spechtler to the management team, as well as strengthening marketing with Matthias Lumm as marketing director, the fast-growing company looks well-positioned to build on its leading global reputation in sound personalization. Mimi and its partners can be found in Las Vegas here: beyerdynamic in LVCC, South Hall 1 – 21360 or at Bragi in the Venetian Tower in suites 30-228, 30-230 and 30-232.

Project Ears by Bragi und Mimi
Mimi and the Munich-based Hearable manufacturer Bragi ( are at CES to publicize their partnership, Project Ears, which started in 2017. Their first joint project is the development of a product that incorporates Mimi technology. This project focuses on Personal Sound Amplification Products (PSAP), combined with the option to personalize sound in a variety of locations such as at home, in the office, or in outdoor sports environments.

One of Project Ear’s first successes was the integration of a hearing test within a Hearable, which enables users to create their own personal hearing profile. Thanks to Mimi’s patented technology, users can easily use the Hearable, adjusted to match their individual hearing profile.

CES Innovation Award and further joint products with beyerdynamic
An independent jury awarded the CES 2018 Innovation Award for the world’s first high-end headphones with integrated sound personalization to the German premium audio manufacturer beyerdynamic for its Aventho wireless. The outstanding feature: thanks to the patented Mimi technology, the headphones adjust audio to match the user’s personal hearing ability. A short hearing test measures and then saves the user’s profile to the headphones, which can then play music optimized to their hearing, making the audio sound clearer and fuller.

The sound personalization technology was developed with the support of Charité in Berlin, one of Europe’s largest university hospitals.

The award-winning Aventho wireless headphone proved how Mimi’s Sound Personalization Technology significantly improves even a high-end hardware product. In the upcoming months we will integrate this technology into smartphones, car entertainment systems, TVs, streaming services and many other products of our everyday life – thus improving the hearing experience for people across the globe. About Mimi Hearing Technologies:
Mimi is the world’s leading company in sound personalization for an optimized listening and hearing experience. More than 1.2 million people have already downloaded Mimi’s apps – Mimi Hearing Test and Mimi Music. The Mimi Hearing Test app allows users to determine their own hearing abilities in an easy and intuitive way. All they need is a smartphone, headphones and quiet surroundings. The Mimi Music app (Android & iOS) employs a second technology, which ensures sound is personalized, leading to an optimized music listening experience. Mimi’s patented technology is now being integrated by global audio brands into their products and solutions, such as beyerdynamic’s award-winning Aventho wireless headphone with Mimi’s Sound Personalization.

Mimi’s digital health vision was born in Berlin in 2013. The team of 40 hearing specialists have perfected the sound personalisation technology in close cooperation with the Berlin-based Charité, one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. In addition, Mimi’s iOS apps are medically certified in Europe (CE). “Mimi’s Sound Personalization encourages users to lower the volume while listening. We know that hearing damage can be prevented when the peak volume is minimized. Thus, our technology contributes to a healthier hearing lifestyle,” says Dr. Henrik Matthies, Managing Director Mimi Hearing Technologies GmbH.

The high quality of the results achieved with the two Mimi apps and the integration of Mimi into hardware and software has been endorsed in comparative tests and by specialist industry media.
